BackGCSE Results day!
Posted on: 26th Mar 2019GCSE results day is finally here and we are delighted to share our individual academy successes.
The Sir Robert Woodard Academy in Lancing are very proud of the 8% further improvement in their students achieving passes at grade 4+ and 5+ in English and Mathematics, and the high numbers of students who achieved grades 7-9. Among the many individual successes were Isabel Carter, Megan Porter and Danielle Pacifico, who achieved Grades 7-9 in every subject.
98% of pupils received a 4+ (C and above) in English and 93% received a 4+ (C and above) in Mathematics at Kings Priory School in Tynemouth. Amongst the success stories is Izzie Thorneycroft, who achieved eight 9 grades, one 8 and an A, in addition to an A* GCSE in Music, dropping just 4 marks, and an A* in Latin too, achieved when in Year 10.
More students than ever before achieved a Grade 9-5 (strong pass) and a 9-4 (standard pass) in English and Mathematics this year at St. Peter’s Academy in Stoke-on-Trent. There was also an increase in the number of students that achieved the English Baccalaureate, that includes English, Mathematics, 2 Sciences, History or Geography and French or Spanish.
At Polam Hall School in Darlington, over 70% of the GCSEs taken at Polam Hall this year were at or above a pass grade. Abbigail Craggs was over the moon with Grade 9s in both English Language and English Literature as was Aerin Harrison who has achieved exactly the same feat! Polina Zhemchuzhina, who is in Year 9, has scored a 9 in Russian GCSE, which she has studied as an extra-curricular activity!
St. Augustine Academy in Maidstone, Kent were also celebrating with individual successes including Phoebe Ponton, whose results included two Grade 9s and two Grade 7s, and Jack Malone who achieved two 8s and five 7s.
At The Littlehampton Academy, 52 per cent of students achieved grade 5 or higher in English and 42 per cent achieved grade 5 or higher in Mathematics. Individual success stories include Nerys Evans who gained three grade 9s and four 8s and William Hayward who received three 9s and three 8s.
