Kieran gained his first degree in German and Irish at the University of Dublin with a year at the Humboldt in Berlin. He trained to be a teacher in Nottingham and Innsbruck receiving both UK and Austrian teaching qualifications. His first teaching experience was as an MFL teacher in West London before moving to the Bronx in New York where he taught Spanish for two years in Lehman High, a large public school. On returning to the UK, Kieran spent seven years working for ARK Academy Trust as Head of School at Globe Academy before moving over to Harris as part of the team that set up Chobham Academy, now a school of first choice and outstanding in all areas. Kieran is currently Principal at the Sir Robert Woodard Academy, recently judged Good in all areas following an Ofsted inspection having been Requires Improvement for its entire prior history. He is passionate about building teams and creating a strong culture to get the best out of staff and students. He believes strongly in ensuring we are ambitious for all students when it comes to curriculum.
